Mentuccia in Sicily known as "nipitedda" from its botanical name calamintha nepeta is a spontaneous plant of the Mediterranean.

Already known by the ancient Romans for its highly digestive and aromatic properties, it is today used in many typical dishes of traditional Aeolian and Sicilian cuisine.

Mentuccia is synonymous with flavors, smells and colors of home.
